Mission Statement

The Asphalt Emulsion Manufacturers Association is the International Organization representing the asphalt emulsion industry. AEMA's mission is to expand the use and applications of asphalt emulsions. Asphalt emulsions are the most environmentally sound, energy efficient and cost effective products used in pavement maintenance and construction. Therefore, through the participation and cooperation of its members, AEMA shall:

1. promote the expanded use of asphalt emulsions through education, dialogue and technology transfer;
2. act as a source of information on asphalt emulsions through seminars, publications and other activities;
3. enhance the quality and performance of asphalt emulsions through procedures, specifications and guidelines;
4. assist the membership in maintaining the highest level of efficiency and safety in the production and application of their products;
5. cooperate with other industry associations and groups (contractors, federal, state and county and municipal highway and transportation departments) on issues of common concerns & interests;
6. represent industry's viewpoint to legislative bodies, environmental agencies and public officials;
7. provide a forum for the transfer of technology, information and ideas through domestic and international meetings; and
8. recognize individuals and agencies who have contributed to the advancement of the goals of the asphalt emulsion industry.
