Guidelines for AEMA Publications

     
1.0 Introduction
 
  The Asphalt Emulsion Manufacturers Association (AEMA) develops new and revises existing publications which provide information on all aspects of asphalt emulsions and their use. The publications include the following: AEMA Informational/Descriptive Brochures
AEMA Field Inspectors Guides
AEMA Recommended Performance Guidelines These publication guidelines provide the procedures to be followed for the development and revision of AEMA publications.
 
2.0 Recommendations for Publications
 
  2.1 The recommendation for the development of a new AEMA publication or major revision to an existing one may be made by any AEMA member or from an individual or organization not a member of the Association.
 
  2.2 The recommendation shall be submitted in writing to the Chairman of the AEMA International Technical Committee (ITC). Reasons supporting the need for a new publication or major revision to an existing one shall be included in the written request.
 
3.0 Publication Development or Revision
 
  3.1 The ITC Chairman shall provide to the ITC Executive Committee all recommendations for new AEMA publications or major revisions to existing ones. The Executive Committee shall review a recommendation and approve or not approve it or defer action until additional information, if required, is received.
 
  3.2 The ITC Chairman shall submit to the AEMA Board of Directors a recommendation when approved by the ITC Executive Committee for their review and action. Information supporting approval shall be provided to the Board.
 
  3.3 The Board shall approve or not approve a recommendation submitted by the ITC Chairman. The ITC Chairman shall be notified of the action of the Board by the AEMA president.
 
  3.4 When approval has been received from the Board, the ITC Chairman shall assign the publication development or revision to the appropriate ITC Standing Committee.
 
  3.5 The Standing Committee Chairman shall assign the publication to a subcommittee for the preparation of a draft.
 
4.0 Publication Approval
 
  4.1 The draft shall be submitted by the Standing Committee Chairman to the ITC Chairman for review and action by the ITC Executive Committee.
 
  4.2 When the ITC Executive Committee has approved a final version of a new or revised publication, the ITC Chairman shall submit it for approval by the AEMA Board of Directors. The Executive Director of AEMA shall be advised by the Board after their approval relative to the printing of the publication.
