2023 TCC-Fly In was a Success: LEAP Participants had the opportunity to head up to the Capitol of our nation, Washington D.C. where they were guided by Tracy Taylor of Government Alignment Strategies (GAS), and AEMA board member Scott Dmytrow of Prism Worldwide. During this event, the group visited serval senators and house representatives and spoke on several issues and topics including the IIJA (Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act) and the Build America Buy America Act, BABA, and how the language of these laws might affect potential funding making its way to the products AEMA members produce and sell. Read more about the Annual Event here! | | | Second Stop: Marathon Petroleum The second stop of this year's LEAP program landed in Garyville, Louisiana! The LEAP participants met in New Orleans for networking events and traveled a short distance to the Marathon Garyville refinery. There, they had the chance to tour the entire facility, the shipping docks, and the control center! Read it here! | | | | | First Up: Vulcan Materials- West Broadway A little rain could not keep this LEAP class from LEAP-ing into action! On Friday following the Annual Meeting, they were embarking on their fist tour at Vulcan Materials- West Broadway in Phoenix, AZ! Despite the Mine Safety and Health Administration Team being on site, it was the LEAP class who stole the show! On this tour, the class was able to see their large pit, laboratory, control tower, and more! The LEAP class for 2023-2024 is getting ready to commence! At the Annual Meeting, the incoming cohort will have the chance to mingle with the former, to get to know each other and ask questions about their experiences over the past year.
