Postponed. ISAET 2020 Symposium Rebooked to Fall 2021 – Washington, D.C.

Glen Ellyn, Ill. — Over the last several weeks, things have changed quite a bit in our communities, countries, and the world at large. Every industry and business is re-evaluating its next steps, and Asphalt Emulsion Manufacturers Association (AEMA) and International Bitumen Emulsion Federation (IBEF) are no different.

The Board of Directors for AEMA and IBEF have reviewed and discussed several options for the 7th International Symposium on Asphalt Emulsion Technology (ISAET) from Oct. 21–23, 2020 in Washington, D.C. In so doing, the Board considered many factors, including: participation levels, travel restrictions, possible new outbreaks of COVID-19, the availability of speakers and the tenor of both the educational and social programming.

After careful consideration of these and other factors, as well as possible alternatives, AEMA and IBEF leadership teams have determined that the 2020 Symposium will be rescheduled for October 24 – October 27, 2021.

The ISAET was first held in Paris, France, in 1993. The symposium embraces research and practice with respect to manufacturing, use, and performance of asphalt emulsions. The conference provides a forum for discussion of leading research work, encourages the presentation of case studies demonstrating the implementation of research into practice, and fosters discussion on producing better performing and cost effective asphalt emulsions.

AEMA and IBEF greatly appreciate your continued patience and support during this difficult time.  We look forward to better days ahead for all of us and seeing you in Washington, D.C. in 2021. If you have any questions, please contact AEMA at 630.942.6579.
