The Owner's Manual for Your Pavement Network

The Owner's Manual for Your Pavement Network Training was established in 2025 by the Asphalt Emulsion Manufacturers Association (AEMA) and third-party Consulting Engineers to bring network level thinking to government agencies. The intended audience for this training is agencies and road owners. This is a one-day, in-person training. 

 

This training includes six different sections:

1. Welcome & General Layout     2. Pavement Assessment & Distresses     3. A Look Inside the Treatment Toolbox    4. How to Get Started    5. Be the Champion    6. RSL Quick Check, Implement, and Communication


Submit Inquiry: 

Inquiries must be submitted to AEMA's Headquarters using this form. Email requests are not permitted.

Invite Local Members: 

All AEMA members in the area of the training will be invited to send a representative.

Marketing Materials: 

All promotional marketing and invitations will be created and sent through AEMA Headquarters. The hosting member must supply AEMA with the location address, confirmed time, contact information, and other key details. Promotional material will include both AEMA’s and the member company’s logo. If other AEMA/ARRA/ISSA members support the training, their logos will be added as well.

Contact List: 

The hosting member must supply AEMA staff with a contact list for the sole purpose of marketing the training to their invitees. Once the email promotion is sent, the member(s) may forward the invitation again to their contact list as follow-up.

 

host responsibilities –

Provide Contact List: 

Submit a contact list to AEMA staff for invitations and promotional materials.

Partner for Session 3: 

Partner with an ARRA or ISSA member to assist the trainer during Session 3: A Look Inside the Treatment Toolbox.

Communicate Details: 

Share key details with AEMA staff including location, invite list, time, and food/beverage arrangements (breakfast and/or lunch).

Financial Responsibility: 

Assist in financial responsibility for hosting the training.

Training Workbook: 

Pick up the training workbook at a preferred location (Staples, FedEx, Office Depot, etc.). Ordering and payment are handled by AEMA staff.

Registration: 

Provide onsite registration and check-in for attendees.

Event Logistics: 

Assist trainers with AV needs and day-of-event logistics, including handing out certificates of completion.

Submit Contact List: 

Submit the contact list no later than 6 weeks prior to the scheduled training date. The list should be attached as a separate file or emailed to AEMA Staff at: alim@cmservices.com and  morganb@cmservices.com.

 


cost to host training –

  • The cost to host this training is $6,500.00 USD, which covers the consulting engineers’ daily fee and travel, administrative fees, and printed materials.
  • This cost may be subsidized by AEMA upon request and availability of funding.
  • It does not include room rental, AV (if needed), food, or beverages.
  • AEMA staff will invoice the hosting member for the training fees, which can be paid via check or credit card.
  • If a member wishes to request financial assistance from another AEMA, ARRA, or ISSA member, they may do so independently. AEMA will not coordinate such payments.
