ITC Gearing Up in 2021

Spring Greetings to all our AEMA members, my name is Brian Cancio with Russell Standard and I’m the Chair of the AEMA ITC. Shelly Cowley with Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions will serve as Co-Chair. One of the initiatives I’m enacting as the Chair is better communication of what the ITC represents, how it benefits the members of AEMA and what to expect as well as how to be involved. Firstly, the ITC consists of the International Technology Committee, which directs and coordinates ITC subcommittees and works with the AEMA board. The current active sub-committees & their goals are:

• Environmental & Regulatory, which informs the ITC about E&R issues impacting the asphalt emulsion industry and formulates actions & reactions to these issues with the ITC & AEMA Board
• Emulsion Technology which informs the ITC about the developments of new specifications, technology or materials that impact the asphalt emulsion industry
• Education which works to expand awareness and training on the asphalt emulsion industry and outreaches to agencies, colleges and universities to grow and expand asphalt emulsion programs
• Publications which manages and updates the AEMA publications such as the Basic Asphalt Emulsion Manual

As an Industry professional working in asphalt emulsions for the last 12 years, I was glad to hear all of this explained and clarified out load, and I hope you are too. The ITC looks forward to presenting the work of our dedicated volunteers to AEMA and working towards current and new goals with each of our subcommittees.
