ITC Making Ready for 2022

Happy New Year & Seasons Greetings to all our AEMA Members, Brian Cancio, your AEMA ITC Chair here to welcome in the new construction season with a winter edition of AEMA Emulsion Notes. Continuing last years initiative of better communication of the ITC’s work, its benefits to members and what to expect in the coming year, I would like to update the AEMA membership on the work & goals of the ITC subcommittees.

              Environmental & Regulatory: Reviewed and submitted feedback to NAPA’s asphalt environmental draft PCR documentation. Responded to member queries for environmental or regulatory information. The committee will continue involvement in LCA, EDP & PCR reviews for NAPA & other industry organizations documents as they become available for review.

              Emulsion Technology will continue to provide regular industry news, technology, specification & development digests as seen in the last quarterly issue for the benefit of AEMA members who are unable to attend

              Education is working to create a scholarship program focused on the information & tools available on roadresource.org to be shared with civil engineering programs to increase awareness of pavement preservation at the academic level nationwide.

              Publications is working with the Asphalt Institute to develop a new edition of the Basic Asphalt Emulsion Manual (BAEM) updated for new industry developments and designed to include new specifications such those derived from NCHRP 09-63 and to help membership bridge the gap from old to new testing & specifications.

Lastly, I would like to offer an open invitation to involvement in the ITC in any subcommittee or just as limited time volunteer. Please feel free to reach out to me if you would like to be involved. Even an hour of work once a month makes a huge benefit to AEMA’s membership as a whole.
