The AEMA LEAP Program visited with Albina Asphalt on April 20th, 2022 in Vancouver, WA. As one of four plant locations for Albina through Washington State, Oregon, and California, the team was hosted by President Greg Arntson and lead on a tour by Operations Manager Kevin Jeffers. In attendance for the LEAP Program was Ernesto Santillan, Ergon; Trevor Ullman, Vance Brothers; and Nat Borsh, Russell Standard who were provided with a site tour of the Albina asphalt emulsion and performance grade asphalt plants near the corporate headquarters in Vancouver. During the visit, time was devoted to discussing the near 120 year company history of Albina, a demonstration of the emulsion milling process, a tour of the polymer modification plant and process as well as the Albina AASHTO certified laboratory for asphalt binder and emulsion testing. Finally, the group concluded the visit with an open discussion regarding best practices for manufacturing, logistics, and market trends around the industry.
