ITC Goals for 2023

The AEMA International Technology Committee (ITC) will be pursuing the following items in 2023:

1. To help under the impact of solvents in emulsions, ITC will be looking for partners to conduct an industry & academic study on the VOC & other emissions from asphalt emulsions containing petroleum distillates and similar materials.
2. To assist the FHWA as a continued partner in webinars, The ITC has found a presenter for the topic of “Pavement Distress Identification.” Thanks again to Aaron Roy from Nouryon for volunteering his time and effort as we move forward with the webinar.
3. To help AEMA membership as discuss at the annual meeting, the ITC will be reaching out to members who have participated in the Paddle Viscosity & Saybolt Viscosity comparative studies to collect information and help members impacted by the differences in results in these two tests.
4. To keep AEMA members involved in industry happenings, the Emulsions Technology Committee will be supplementing the Emulsion Notes with regular releases of information from industry meetings & conferences so members not in attendance will remain informed.
5. To increase industry awareness in academia, the Education Committee will be spreading awareness of the industry, working with the board to build a scholarship based on data from RoadResource.org and contacting schools to drive student membership.
6. To improve relevance and update information, the Publication committee will be working on updating the Basic Asphalt Emulsion Manual to current information and include RoadResource.org where relevant. They will also be putting together regular digests of papers from NCHRP and other sources that are relevant to members.
