2023 TCC Fly-In Success!

| The week of May 15th 2023, several LEAPers from this year’s class (Bobby Behrens,
Matt Gutkaiss, and Charles Taylor) as well as one from last year’s class (Mike
Tyree) visited Washington D.C. to attend the TCC fly-in. They were guided by
Tracy Taylor of Government Alignment Strategies (GAS), and AEMA board member
Scott Dmytrow of Prism Worldwide. During this event, the group visited serval senators and house representatives and spoke on several issues and topics including the IIJA (Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act) and the Build America Buy America Act, BABA, and how the language of these laws might affect potential funding making its way to the products AEMA members produce and sell.

| The elected officials were
selected because the members or member companies attending are part of their
constituency. Each member of the group took the lead in the meetings when it
was someone from their area. This provided each member of the group the
opportunity to lead some of the discussions although all the handout materials
were the same and prepped by GAS. |

The group also participated in the TCC Fly-in conference and networking associated with that group. The attendees had the opportunity to speak about the benefits and proper application of pavement preservation treatments and the
value of AEMA in its’ 50th anniversary year. During the trip, they were also able to tour various scenic museums and monuments.
