| | Members of the LEAP ’24 class recently had the privilege of attending the 8th International Symposium on Asphalt Emulsion Technology (ISAET) in Washington, D.C. This prestigious event brought together experts from around the world to discuss
the latest advancements in asphalt emulsion technology. The conference offered an invaluable and unique opportunity to connect with industry leaders, researchers, and engineers. Attendees had the opportunity to listen to insightful presentations from diverse national and international speakers. These presentations covered a variety of interesting topics, just to mention a few, from emulsifier chemistry and its impact on performance, balanced mix design for cold-in-place recycling using engineered emulsions and solving your 3 biggest micro-surfacing challenges. Also discussed, particle size specifications, sustainability topics and new test methods for quality control of asphalt emulsions used in chip seal applications. Overall, ISAET 2024 was a highly rewarding experience. The LEAP members not only gained valuable knowledge, but also had the chance to connect with professionals from around the world and explore the vibrant city of Washington, D.C.
